A Greener Future Starts with Us!
Building a sustainable legacy - Greener Environment
Tanjong Pagar residents come together to plant a remarkable 1000 trees in our very own neighborhood for the year 2023!
We are delighted to announce that we are already underway with an exciting initiative that not only enhances the beauty of our neighborhood but also fosters a greener environment!
The Tanjong Pagar Town Council has launched “Plant A Tree @Our Tanjong Pagar” programme, aiming to plant 1000 trees alongside our dedicated residents throughout 2023.
This initiative demonstrates our Town Council’s dedication to actively contribute to the national OneMillionTrees movement.
By planting trees within our community, we are taking tangible steps toward creating a sustainable and thriving environment for present and future generations.
To ensure that as many residents as possible can participate, we have organized over 15 tree-planting sessions.
These sessions offer a wonderful opportunity for individuals to actively engage with their surroundings and contribute to the greening of their immediate neighborhoods.
By fostering a sense of ownership and pride, we are empowering our residents to take an active role in shaping their environment!
Already, the first four planting sessions held at Telok Blangah Crescent, Jalan Bukit Merah, Mei Ling Street, and Cambridge Road have yielded incredible results.
Due to the enthusiastic involvement of numerous residents, we have achieved the successful planting of 310 trees in these designated locations.
It is heartening to witness our community coming together to make a tangible difference.
Our commitment to innovation doesn’t stop at planting trees.
As part of our progressive approach, participants in the program will receive a certificate featuring two unique QR codes. The first code will grant access to the interactive TreeSG map, a platform developed by the National Parks Board, allowing individuals to easily locate the tree they planted. The second code will provide participants with their very own unique Non-Fungible Token (NFT) hosted on OpenSea, an NFT marketplace. This pioneering initiative marks the first-ever NFT urban tree planting project spearheaded by a Town Council, underscoring our dedication to embracing technology for the benefit of our community.

Beyond the act of planting trees, these events serve as an opportunity to foster stronger bonds within our community. By incorporating engaging activities, we aspire to introduce residents of all ages, the inner workings of our Town Council. These events also offer us a chance to collaborate closely with sustainability advocates and our grassroots communities, forging robust partnerships in our shared quest for a greener future!
Together, let’s embark on this transformative journey of planting trees and creating a legacy that will endure for generations to come. Our collective efforts can and will make a difference!
