Breaking ground on a new covered linkway at Owen Road
We recently held a ceremony to break ground on a new high covered linkway across Owen Road - a seemingly simple project with a complex behind-the-scenes challenge.
We recently held a ceremony to break ground on a new high covered linkway across Owen Road - a seemingly simple project with a complex behind-the-scenes challenge.
The location of this linkway presented a unique coordination hurdle – one which required seamless teamwork between three distinct bodies:
Honest communication and collaboration were needed to get the project approved and executed effectively. All the parties involved maintained a good working relationship and became cohesive drivers of sustained progress.
And we pulled together to take it on!
We’re delighted to see everyone come together in a great example of inter-agency collaboration to bring this project to life. That was why we had this mini celebration, which was attended by Moulmein-Cairnhill Adviser MOS Alvin Tan, Kampong Glam Adviser Mayor Denise Phua, the LTA team, and nearby residents.
The two Advisers took the opportunity to update the residents on the upcoming developments around the Farrer Park area—including a central green space for residents to congregate, a jogging path that winds through the estate, a new sports centre with pools, gym, fitness studios, etc. and 1600 new HDB flats—all of which will bring even more life and vibrancy to the neighbourhood.
Once completed, it will bring people and communities together. But it’s wonderful to know it was already doing just that—even during its planning stages.
