Our Tanjong Pagar residents have given their strong backing to the Neighbourhood Renewal Programme (NRP) exhibitions for both the Cambridge Road and Spottiswoode Park precincts, both of which took place on 11 July. Both projects comfortably exceeded the required 75% approval threshold to proceed.
This overwhelming support reflects residents’ confidence in the proposed improvements and a shared commitment with Tanjong Pagar Town Council to create more vibrant, accessible and liveable neighbourhoods.
At Cambridge Road, the NRP exhibition featured refreshed block facades inspired by the estate’s rich heritage, covered pick-up and drop-off points, a new community plaza, upgraded pavilion, enhanced playgrounds and fitness facilities, a Residents’ Hub, and EV charging points.
Meanwhile, residents at Spottiswoode Park gathered to learn more about the plans to upgrade their community spaces with multi-generational playgrounds and fitness equipment, and improved sheltered barrier-free access connections. Tanjong Pagar Town Council also brought the residents together for a community dinner and durian party at the exhibition, celebrating another milestone in the renewal of their estate.
The strong endorsement for both projects highlights the importance of engaging residents in the renewal process and ensuring neighbourhood improvements reflect the needs and aspirations of the communities they serve. Construction for the approved enhancements will commence in phases in Q3 2026.
