Tekka Centre reopened on October 1st, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter in its storied history. As many of you are aware, the renowned Tekka Centre had closed its doors to undergo an extensive and transformative renovation in July.

This project has breathed new life into Tekka, imbuing it with vivid colours and new equipment while preserving the cherished cultural heritage that defines it. This underscores our commitment to revitalising this cultural and food hub. Residents and visitors eagerly awaited the unveiling of the renewed Tekka Centre.

What truly distinguishes Tekka Centre transcends mere bricks and mortar; it is the intangible tapestry of memories, narratives, and traditions woven into its very essence over the years. In recognition of the indelible mark that Tekka has left on our collective consciousness, we wanted to preserve these cherished memories.

This video captures the treasured memories of Tekka Centre’s devoted stallholders. These stalwarts of our community have been integral to our neighbourhood for generations, and their narratives serve as timecapsule.

Our heartfelt gratitude to you for your patience during this transformative period!

We look forward to witnessing the emergence of a new Tekka Centre—an intersection where tradition harmonises seamlessly with modernity, right in the heart of Tanjong Pagar.
